Lyjah Fritz, 20, was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a restricted person and distribution of a controlled substance, according to police.
Detectives executed two search warrants around 1 a.m. on Feb. 27 — one of the warrants was for a home in Midvale, and the other was for a home in Taylorsville.
“During their investigation, detectives found two guns, seven pounds of suspected marijuana, more than 300 THC cartridges, nearly a pound of dab marijuana, ammunition, and $1,645 in cash,” SLCPD said in a press release.
The SLCPD SWAT Team executed the search warrant in Midvale, and the West Valley City Police Department SWAT Team assisted with the execution of the warrant in Taylorsville.
Officials did not give an exact date for when the investigation into Fritz began, but said it started in 2024 after detectives were informed that he was reportedly distributing drugs while illegally possessing a firearm.
There is no further information at this time.
