Two Oregon men arrested in child predator sting

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two Oregon men were arrested for separate sex crimes in February after they allegedly had sexual conversations with Lincoln City Police Department officers posing as children online and attempted to meet the decoys in person.

A Corvallis man was arrested on Feb. 27 after he allegedly sent graphic sexual photos of himself to Lincoln City Police Department officers posing as three different children online.

The suspect, 37-year-old Landry Johnson, also allegedly had graphic sexual conversations with the decoys and made plans to meet one of them in person. Johnson was arrested by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office for a warrant out of Lincoln County. He was charged with luring a minor and the online sexual corruption of a child.

“The Lincoln City Police Department continues our work to protect our kids from predators who target children for sexual exploitation,” LCPD said.

On Feb. 18, 28-year-old Noah Charles Godfrey of Lincoln City was arrested after he allegedly arrived at a location to meet a decoy posting as a 15-year-old for sex.

“During the course of the online conversations, he sent graphic messages and suggestive images of himself,” LCPD said. “Godfrey made arrangements to meet and pick up the fictitious minor female for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts.”

During the investigation, officers determined Godfrey was communicating with multiple real-life victims, and that he was in possession of sexual images of at least two of the children. Lincoln City Police were able to contact the family of one of the victims with help from out-of-state law enforcement.

Godfrey was indicted by a grand jury in Lincoln County for charges of online sexual corruption of a minor and luring a minor.

“The Lincoln City Police want to encourage parents to monitor their children’s social media activity and discuss with them the possible dangers of communicating with strangers online,” LCPD said. “These investigations are conducted in an effort to reduce criminal activity and to further enhance the safety of our community.”
