Search underway for missing 2-year-old boy in Lincoln County

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A search is underway for a 2-year-old boy who went missing from Siletz, Ore. Saturday afternoon, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the child, Dane Paulsen, was reported missing just before 4:30 p.m. and was last seen playing in the backyard of a home near milepost 21 on the Siletz River Highway.

Emergency crews from multiple fire and rescue agencies in the area, including Oregon State Police, immediately began searching the home and surrounding areas, even employing thermal imaging drones for an air search.

Additionally, the FBI confirmed they have been brought in to assist the Lincoln County Sheriff in the investigation.

LCSO said they are also searching for a “late 90’s gold colored station wagon” – possibly a 1996 Mercury Sable with tinted windows – which was seen in the area before Dane went missing. “However, there is no link showing this vehicle is directly involved in the disappearance,” the sheriff’s office told KOIN 6 News.

They also said there is “No evidence supporting domestic violence at this time.”

Dane was last seen wearing a gray fuzzy hoodie with teddy bear ears, black pants and white shoes.
