Around 7:50 p.m., the Priceville Police Department said officers stopped a vehicle on I-65 near mile marker 332 for an obstructed windshield and for following too close.
The department said that a probable cause search of the vehicle started upon further investigation. Officers found a felony possession amount of marijuana, a firearm, over $60,000 in U.S. Currency and various drug paraphernalia “consistent with the illicit sale and transportation of bulk narcotics.”
As a result of PPD’s findings, Amber Shuntay Battle, of Birmingham, was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
Battle was taken to the Morgan County Jail with a bond of $640,000.
PPD said the vehicle, a 2023 Dodge Charger, and the U.S. Currency were seized pending condemnation proceedings.
The department said it would be following up on this case with local Federal Authorities.
