Man dies in single-vehicle highway crash near Owingsville

According to the Kentucky State Police Department (KSP), troopers from Post 8 in Morehead were dispatched alongside the Bath County Sheriff’s Department and Owingsville police to the scene of a crash on Highway 36 around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday.

A preliminary investigation showed that Ricky Lee Vice, 18, of Owingsville, had been driving a Chevrolet Prism on the highway when he allegedly lost control of the car, crossing the road’s center line and striking a guard rail.

Vice was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bath County Coroner’s Office.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing by KSP.
