Hazy sunshine with above average-temperatures Sunday
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Sunday, Utah! High pressure will continue to dominate the weather story through Sunday afternoon.

Clouds will be on the increase during the day, along with gusty south winds. A few showers may develop across SW Utah by later Sunday afternoon, with moisture increasing Sunday night. A stronger storm system continues to look likely next week in the Monday through Tuesday time frame, bringing a better chance for widespread precipitation and some cooler temperatures to the state.

Valley rain and mountain snow will develop during the day with 0.25-0.50″ of rain expected for the valleys. Mountains will pick up all snow with the event and Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for those locations. 6-12″ of snow will be common for most mountains, but some higher areas such as the Cottonwoods could pick up as much as 18″. As the low pressure moves through the state Tuesday, looks like we may see snow levels drop to the mountain valleys and near the valley floors by Tuesday morning. This could lead to a rain/snow mix or even a round of valley snow on Tuesday.

The pattern looks to remain active through the end of next week, and potentially through mid-March with several more systems potentially on the horizon. The next system looks to arrive by Wednesday and Thursday, once again bringing a valley mix and mountain snow event.
