High pressure will be the dominant weather feature through the weekend. A weak cut-off low pressure will try to skim southern Utah, bringing a slight chance for a shower or two for this weekend across far southern Utah.
A stronger storm system continues to look likely next week in the Monday through Tuesday time frame, bringing a better chance for widespread precipitation and some cooler temperatures to the state.
It’s still early, but it looks like a mostly all snow event for our northern mountains, with valley rain on Monday. As the low pressure moves through the state Tuesday, it looks like we may see snow levels drop to the mountain valleys and near the valley floors by Tuesday morning.
This could lead to a rain/snow mix or even a round of valley snow on Tuesday. Mountains & mountain valleys will likely see some accumulations, although still a bit early to pinpoint exact numbers.
The pattern looks to remain active through the end of next week, and potentially through mid-March with several more systems potentially on the horizon.
