Man dies after jumping onto Clovis highway, police say

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man jumped onto the lanes of Highway 168 in Clovis and died, prompting temporary closures, the Clovis Police Department said.

Officers say they responded to eastbound Highway 168 between Clovis and Fowler avenues Friday evening after several 911 callers reported a man about to jump into the lanes of the freeway.

Police say the man jumped onto the eastbound lanes of Highway 168 and was pronounced deceased. The incident prompted closures on Highway 168 for investigation. The California Highway Patrol was on the scene assisting with traffic control.

This is an ongoing investigation.
