Driver crashes into apartment 2 days after tenant moves in
WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) — A driver crashed into an apartment in West Valley City Friday evening — just two days after the tenant had moved in, according to West Valley City Fire.

At around 6 p.m. on Feb. 28, a driver crashed into an apartment building on the 2100 West block of 3600 South. The driver reportedly fled the scene.

The tenant of the basement-floor apartment was not home during the incident, officials said, though they had reportedly moved into the apartment only two days prior to the crash.

Authorities believe the car was stolen. Details surrounding the incident and how the driver ended up crashing into the apartment are under investigation at this time.

A building inspector has found the apartment, as well as the apartment above, to be uninhabitable. Red Cross is working with the displaced individuals.

No injuries have been reported.
