The Comets entered the seventh and final inning down 2-1, but three straight walks by LSU-signee Marshall Louque loaded the bases.
After a pitching change with bases loaded, a hit batter and RBI groundout would allow the Comets to edge their River Parish rival.
Marshall Louque finished with nine strikeouts on the night while Comets’ starting pitcher Bryce Waguespack finished with seven strikeouts.
Game two between these teams will take place Friday at 3:30 p.m. Game three is scheduled for Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
More coverage of this series will be available on WGNO’s Friday Night Sports. The show starts Friday at 11 p.m. on Nola 38, the CW. It replays at midnight on WGNO.
