Man slapped mother, spit on baby while carrying gun at Eugene mall, police say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 22-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after slapping a mother and spitting on a baby while armed with a gun at a Eugene mall, police said.

Reeson Coffey was lodged at the Lane County Jail and charged with unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, harassment and fourth-degree assault.

Eugene authorities responded to the Valley River Center just after 4:30 p.m. after receiving the report of the alleged incident.
