LSUA has won 19 of its last 20 games and was ranked No. 1 in the penultimate NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Generals fell to No. 2 in the final poll after dropping their regular season finale to LSU Shreveport, 101-96. Before the loss, LSUA had won 19 consecutive games, marking the third-longest winning streak in program history.
The Generals enter the tournament averaging 84 points per game while shooting 44.5% from the field. They boast a +14.4 scoring margin, allowing just 69.6 points per game.
Kashie Natt leads LSUA in scoring, averaging 19.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. EJ McQuillan (12.5 PPG) and Jakemin Abney (10.0 PPG) follow in scoring contributions. Natt, who has recorded 15 double-doubles this season, is shooting 48% from the field, while McQuillan and Abney are shooting 40.7% and 47.2%, respectively.
Huston-Tillotson (10-16, 10-14 RRAC) clinched a tournament berth with a 57-46 win over Jarvis Christian University. The Rams overcame an 18-point deficit in the second half of a must-win game and enter the RRAC Tournament on a four-game winning streak.
HTU averages 65.4 points per game and is shooting 39.5% from the floor. The Rams have struggled from beyond the arc, converting just 27% of their three-point attempts, while making 69.4% of their free throws.
Charles Hallmon leads the Rams with 13.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He also has a team-high 41 steals and ranks second in assists (53) and blocks (17). Braelon Seals adds 8.7 points per game, shooting 35.4% from the field, with 119 of his 198 shots coming from three-point range.
LSUA won both regular-season matchups against Huston-Tillotson, defeating the Rams 99-68 on Dec. 12 in Alexandria and 85-57 on Feb. 8 in Austin, Texas. McQuillan led the Generals with 18 points in the first meeting, while Natt scored 24 in the rematch.
Historically, LSUA has dominated the series, holding a 19-1 all-time record against Huston-Tillotson. The Generals have won the last five matchups.
The Generals won the RRAC Tournament last season, defeating Paul Quinn College (77-67), LSU Shreveport (89-74), and Southwest (N.M.) (90-72) en route to the championship. Natt was named RRAC Tournament MVP and later earned RRAC Player of the Year and NAIA First Team All-American honors.
LSUA has claimed four RRAC Tournament titles, most recently in the 2023-24 season. The program previously won the tournament in 2014-15, 2016-17, and 2017-18. Additionally, the Generals have won seven RRAC regular-season championships, including the 2024-25 title.
