On Feb. 26, around 4:45 p.m., authorities were called to the 1600 block of Ethel Avenue for reports of a battery. The woman told officers she heard noises coming from her basement and when she opened the door she saw Meyer.
Meyer told her, “I’m your neighbor and I’m coming in,” before she told him he could not, according to court records.
Meyer pushed the door open and told the woman, “I am your retribution for poisoning my mother and brother,” according to court documents.
The victim told officials she ran away but was chased by the suspect. When she made it to a nearby car, Meyer pulled her to the ground, kicked and punched her multiple times, authorities reported.
Officers investigated the apartment building and saw the basement door had been kicked in.
Meyer is charged with aggravated battery of a victim 60 or older and home invasion causing injury.
