‘I am your retribution’: Rockford man accused of invading senior’s home, battering her

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Douglas Meyer, 31, for allegedly breaking into a woman’s basement as well as kicking and punching her multiple times.

On Feb. 26, around 4:45 p.m., authorities were called to the 1600 block of Ethel Avenue for reports of a battery. The woman told officers she heard noises coming from her basement and when she opened the door she saw Meyer.

Meyer told her, “I’m your neighbor and I’m coming in,” before she told him he could not, according to court records.

Meyer pushed the door open and told the woman, “I am your retribution for poisoning my mother and brother,” according to court documents.
