COPA investigates shooting involving officer on Far South Side

CHICAGO — An investigation by Chicago’s Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) is underway on Friday afternoon after a shooting involving a police officer on the city’s Far South Side.

According to a social media post shared by COPA just before 2:20 p.m., the shooting unfolded in the 3800 block of East 112th Street in the East Side neighborhood.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting or if anyone was injured.

Chicago police have not yet provided updates on the incident.
