Destinie Hebert and Adam Comeaux faced two counts of “Abandoning a Child with Intent to Return” after a concerned citizen reported two children left in a vehicle for at least two hours at Hendrick Medical Center last August.
When police arrived, they found a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old in a turned-off car with only one window partially rolled down. The officers noted that the children were sweaty and crying for their parents, who were inside the hospital.
Comeaux pleaded guilty to one of the charges, while the other was waived. He was sentenced to 3 years of probation and fined $500.
Hebert also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 3 years of probation, 120 hours of community service, and a $500 fine.
