Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said deputies responded to the incident on Wednesday, February 26 after they were contacted by the Vicksburg Warren School District campus police.

According to Pace, the alleged rape occurred inside a classroom that was not occupied. He said the incident involved two students who were acquainted with each other.

Authorities reviewed the school’s security video and identified the 14-year-old suspect. The teenager’s name has not been released as of Friday, February 28.

The teenager was detained by campus police and turned over to deputies. Pace said the teen has been charged as an adult.

The teenager appeared in court on Thursday, February 27 and is being held without bond.
