Get ready for a free festival celebrating one of the city’s largest parades, a ball with a performance from country music’s biggest duo and a Lundi Gras celebration featuring a Witch Doctor and Mr. Big Stuff. First, if you’re looking for an escape from the parades but still want a little Carnival fun, head to the Silver Slipper Casino & Hotel in Bay St. Louis. There’ll be appearances by Mardi Gras Indians as well as great live music. Plus, on Fat Tuesday, the Silver Slipper will serve a special snow crab and jumbo shrimp buffet with a king cake giveaway.
Ready for Bacchus Sunday? Then don’t miss the free Bacchus Bash at Generations Hall with live performances by DJ Mannie Fresh, Kings of Neon and others. The party starts at noon and lasts until Bacchus ends. Bacchus Bash also has VIP options that include an open bar and more.
Next, on Monday, the Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club hosts its free Lundi Gras Festival at Woldenberg Park. See all the Zulu characters as well as live music from DJ Jubilee, James Andrews and others. The fun starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until sundown.
Finally, calling all country music fans: buy tickets now for Orpheuscapade, The Krewe of Orpheus’ after-parade ball at the Convention Center. The party will feature the Brothers Osbourne as well as the talented Bianca Del Rio. Tickets for the black-tie event include an up-close view of the parade as it rolls into the Convention Center.
