The newest tenant in The Empire Mall food court will open Thursday offering three hours of free create-your-own bowls.
El Burrito will offer the chicken or steak bowls from noonto 3 p.m. with customers’ choice of toppings.
The regular menu will begin after that, featuring create-your-own burritos, bowls, tacos and quesadillas. Protein options include chicken, steak, shrimp and carne asada. Entrees come with nacho chips.
It’s owned by Semir Secic, who opened Stir Fry Express, a self-serve restaurant featuring many Asian dishes last year in the food court.
“We’ve gotten great response,” he said. “People love it and the concept, so we’re happy.”
El Burrito is moving into the space that used to be Taco John’s.
