Mardi Gras Miracle? Spotty rain Thursday then a spectacular weekend!

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — What a parade-perfect forecast this evening! Enjoy as you make your way to the parade route. Another round of patchy fog possible overnight into early Thursday morning, mainly north of the lake.

Thursday we start off cloudy as a weak cold front moves in. Isolated rain showers are possible through the late afternoon. Right now, I’m maintaining rain chance of 10-20% through 4-5PM.

Parades will not have any weather-related issues that evening! Temperatures for Thursday evening parades in the low-mid 60s, so a light jacket may be needed.

Slightly cooler, gorgeous weather for Friday Gras reveling through the French Quarter & the 55th annual Greasing of the Poles. Don’t be fooled by the mild days Friday-Sunday, as it will still be a little chilly in the overnights!

Could we see a more active pattern next week? It’s possible. I wouldn’t fret just yet — Models are all over the place, and the latest trend from both the Euro and the GFS keeps us mostly DRY through Fat Tuesday with the next heavier rain threat by Ash Wednesday.
