According to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, 59-year-old Anthony Depanicis, a former officer at the Vandergrift Police Department, is facing a misdemeanor charge of corruption of minors.
State Police say the victim, a 14-year-old girl, claimed the sexual relationship started in 1991 when she was 14 and Depanicis was 25. The DA’s Office says Depanicis was a part-time officer with Vandergrift Police at the time, and the victim allegedly befriended Depanicis while she lived in Vandergrift Borough.
The office says encounters reportedly occurred on a regular, weekly basis at Depanicis’s house in Oklahoma Borough. The alleged relationship lasted for three years until the victim was 17, per the DA’s Office.
Depanicis was arraigned and is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing.
