Woman dies in Fresno County mobile home fire, nearby hydrant wasn’t working

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A woman has died following a fire that damaged several mobile homes at a site in San Joaquin.

The fire on Monday was reported at around 1:50 p.m. in the area of 11th Street and Nevada Avenue in San Joaquin. Crews received reports of a mobile home on fire with people possibly trapped inside.

On Tuesday, officials with Fresno County Fire confirmed that a woman was found dead at the site of the fire. The victim, who has not been officially identified, also lived inside one of the mobile homes that caught fire.

Fresno County Fire also said that the fire hydrant closest to the fire was not working when they responded to the scene on Monday, requiring firefighters to go to the next closest hydrant to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
