Woman, 26, shot in chest after argument on West Side

CHICAGO — A 26-year-old woman is in critical condition after being shot following an argument on the city’s West Side.

The shooting happened around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday on the 1400 block of South Tripp in the North Lawndale neighborhood.

Police said the 26-year-old woman was involved in a verbal altercation with another woman inside a residence. The victim then relocated outside.

According to police, the offender followed and approached her, then shot the victim in the chest. The offender fled the scene.

The 26-year-old woman was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

No one is in custody. Area Four Detectives are investigating.
