WASHINGTON (WPHL) — After the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX, sources on Monday say the team is looking forward to receiving and would accept an invitation from The White House to celebrate their 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
While in the Oval Office Tuesday, a reporter asked President Donald Trump if the White House would extend an invitation to the Eagles.
“They will be [invited] — we haven’t yet, but they will be. I thought it was a great performance by them, and absolutely they”ll be extended that invitation,” said President Trump. “They deserve to be down here, and we hope to see them.”
President Trump said his administration would invite the team sometime on Tuesday. As of Tuesday evening, the Eagles have not indicated if the team has received an invitation yet.
