MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — Authorities warned motorists of a “serious” crash between a sedan and SUV in the 9500 block of N. Alpine Road.

Police said the crash happened around 7 a.m. near the intersection with Story Book Drive.
The Winnebago County Sheriff advised drivers to avoid the area.
A witness at the scene said an elderly couple were transported to the hospital.
