BRPD was alerted by a hospital around 7:40 p.m. that a woman arrived with a gunshot wound. Her injury was considered non-life-threatening.
As the investigation unfolded, BRPD discovered that the woman was on her way home when she was shot at by a passing vehicle.
They said she exited I-12 East south of Millerville and saw “a vehicle following her closely.”
“While changing lanes and attempting to make a left turn from Millerville, the vehicle passed on her passenger side when she then heard two pop noises,” BRPD said.
When she arrived at her apartment, the woman realized she had been shot.
The shooting victim said she was not clear as to why she was shot at as there was no road rage or confrontation in this case.
Investigators are searching for a suspect and motive in connection with this shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
