On Feb 25, around 4 p.m., officers were patrolling Route 2 when they saw a green Buick driving 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police pulled the car over in the 1000 block of East Union Street.
Authorities said they could smell burnt cannabis inside the vehicle. The suspect told officials he just started smoking the cannabis and was not impaired.
Moore told police he had a firearm in the car before they found a handgun in the center council.
The suspect did not have a conceal-and-carry license or FOID valid in the State of Illinois, according to the State of Wisconsin.
During an interview with officers, Moore said he bought the firearm from Mid City Guns in Janesville.
Moore is charged with driving 15-20 mph over the limit and aggravated unlawful possession of a loaded weapon without a FOID card.
