Oregon State’s Arquette named National Shortstop of the Week

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The College Baseball Hall of Fame named Oregon State junior, Aiva Arquette, as the Brooks Wallace Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Every week, the nation’s best shortstop receives this distinction. It honors Brooks Wallace, who played for Texas Tech from 1977 to 1980 and died at the age of 27 from leukemia.

So far this season, Arquette is batting .440 with three homers, 10 RBIs and eight runs scored.

Before transferring to Oregon State, Arquette was selected to the All-Pac-12 team and All-Pac-12 defensive team as a sophomore at Washington.

After a 5-2 start to the 2025 season, Oregon State is currently ranked #8 in the country by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Next up, the Beavers will play Baylor on Friday, Feb 28 at Global Life Field in Texas. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
