
Shooting for gold and securing multiple top-three finishes, the Mountain Home NJROTC had a strong showing at the recent Arkansas State Championships.
The Grizzly Mega Meet, held in Fort Smith, featured marksmanship, raider, and drill competitions with participation from more than 20 schools. The Mountain Home team delivered impressive performances across multiple categories, including armed, unarmed, and marksmanship events.
MH NJROTC placed second in Armed Color Guard, second in Armed Regulation, and first in Armed Exhibition, securing the team first place in Armed Overall.
The team also took first place in Unarmed Overall, earning first in Unarmed Color Guard, second in Unarmed Regulation, and third in Unarmed Exhibition.
In marksmanship, the team won first place in Precision and third in Sporter. Individually, Karhys Herbert claimed first place in Precision Individual Overall, followed by Dylan Prins in second and MaKynley Smith in third. Brittney Jones placed third overall in the Sporter category.
The Mountain Home NJROTC has a busy schedule ahead, including the Brain Brawl Championship at ASU-Mountain Home on March 8 and the Arkansas State Championship for marksmanship this weekend.
