Albertville man charged with rape after report of minor giving birth

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A man has been charged with rape after the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was notified a minor had given birth.

On Feb. 19, the Marshall County Criminal Investigation Division received a report about a minor who had given birth. After investigating the complaint, a felony warrant was obtained.

On Feb. 25, Marshall County investigators, with the Marshall County Drug Task Force and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 26-year-old Manuel Andres Francisco (Tomas) was charged with first-degree rape.

MCSO said Tomas is being held in the Marshall County Jail without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

The sheriff’s office said additional charges are expected.
