Springlike warmth returns after record cold

KTLO’s melting snowbanks as sunrise brings warmer temps Monday

After a stretch of winter weather that brought snow and record-low temperatures to the Twin Lakes Area last week, a much warmer pattern is settling in this week, making it feel as if spring has returned.

According to National Weather Service meteorologist Justin Condrey, temperatures will be noticeably warmer across the region to start the workweek. Highs on Monday are expected to reach the low to mid-60s under sunny skies, with even warmer conditions anticipated on Tuesday. Some areas could see temperatures push close to 70 degrees.

Overnight lows will stay mostly above freezing, dropping into the mid to upper 30s through the workweek. Mostly dry conditions are expected this week, with little to no rain in the forecast.

Average highs for this week should see highs in the mid 50s with overnight lows in the lower 30s. With 24 days remaining until Spring’s official start in March, this weeks stint of above average temperatures will be a welcome relief and for many a hopeful sign that the worst of winter is behind us.
