Mardi Gras weather:  Pretty much PERFECT..so far

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A very pleasant weather pattern is settling into the ArkLaTex today and it will likely stick around through next weekend.  That is great news for what is going to be a very busy Mardi Gras weekend.

Krewe of Gemini?  The Mardi Gras festivities begin on Saturday with the Krewe of Gemini parade.  I’d expect to see plenty of sunshine with afternoon temperatures in the 70s.  We could see temperatures ease into the upper 60s after sunset. 

Krewe of Highland? The weather will also cooperate for this Sunday’s Krewe of Highland parade, although it will be a little bit cooler.  Expect a partly cloudy sky next Sunday afternoon with temperatures in the low 70s.  Models are still indicating a little rain will be possible this Sunday night, so keep that on the radar in case this disturbance arrives a little sooner.

10-Day Forecast: Your 10-day forecast shows that the pleasant temperatures will likely stick around through all of this week.  Daytime highs will likely remain in the 70s.  Overnight lows will mainly be in the 40s and 50s.  Don’t expect much rain.  Our only chance will be a slight chance on Wednesday night.  Our next best chance of rain will return next Sunday night and could last on and off through next Tuesday.  Temperatures will cool slightly into the 60s for highs during the first half of next week. Overnight lows next week will mainly be in the 40s.
