KSP investigating after trooper allegedly shot, killed man in Knox County
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky State Police are investigating a deadly trooper-involved shooting on Monday in Knox County.
Kentucky State Police said troopers and Barbourville police went to a home on Hubbs Hollow Road around 6 p.m. Monday to serve an arrest warrant to 44-year-old Steven Carter, of Rockholds.
According to a news release, Carter was found behind the house with a gun. A trooper commanded Carter to drop the gun, but during the encounter, the trooper shot and killed Carter.
The Knox County Coroner pronounced Carter dead at 7:44 p.m. at the scene.
