City of Franklin seeks volunteers for ‘Love the Boot Week’

FRANKLIN, La. (KLFY) — Franklin Mayor Eugene Foulcard is encouraging everyone in the community to participate in this year’s “Love the Boot Week” to help clean up the city and make sure to keep Louisiana beautiful. “Love the Boot Week” is from April 5-13. Saturday, April 12, is the day the city picked for residents to do their part.

“When you get the community involved it is a team effort, is a team approach, and they look forward to doing this,” said Foulcard.

Neighborhood leaders, small businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to gather a team willing to come together and clean the city. The annual event brings multiple communities together for a sort of spring cleaning. Mayor Foulcard said everyone coming together is what makes it such an important event for every community.

“That’s what it’s all about, community involvement,” he said. “With the community taking a stand against litter and taking a stand in support of keeping Louisiana beautiful and keeping the city of Franklin beautiful.”

If you are interested in signing up, call city hall to register your team’s name in the area you will be cleaning.
