To do so, they created an Illinois Community Food Map. It allows you to search any zip code in the state to find all food resources in that area.
The map includes places in your community that offers free food or meals. It also connects community members with stores and markets that accept SNAP/LINK or WIC coupons.
You can find the Illinois Community Food Map here. If you have questions about the map, U of I Extension said to reach out to eatmovesave@illinois.edu. If you’re interested in adding your organization to the map, contact Abby Christensen at abby@foodfinder.us.
The Illinois Extension is also offering advice on finding recipes and making healthier choices on a budget. Visit their website for more information.
