According to police, Sosa walked into the lobby of the Rochelle Police Department at 7:04 a.m. on October 15th and indicated he had been involved in a murder.
Rochelle Police contacted the Lee County Sheriff, whose deputies conducted a welfare check in the 700 block of Richardson Avenue in Ashton and found Jaedyn’s body inside.
Ashton is located about 11 miles west of Rochelle.
Police said both Sosa and Hill lived at the apartment and were in a dating relationship and had an 8-month-old daughter.
Sosa entered a negotiated plea to one count of First Degree Murder and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
