Oregon center named Big Ten Conference Player of the Week

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon center Nate Bittle was selected as the Big Ten Conference Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Ducks to a 3-0 week with an average of nearly 20 points each game. 

In a home victory over Rutgers on Feb 16, Bittle had a double-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocked shots.

He was crucial in an 80-78 victory over Iowa on Feb 19, scoring 21 points (8-13 FG) and grabbing 10 boards. He also had four assists and three blocks. On Saturday, Bittle powered the Ducks to a 77-73 overtime victory over No. 11 Wisconsin, scoring a career-high 23 points (9-17 FG) to go along with six rebounds and three blocks.

During this season, Bittle is averaging 13.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and shooting 50.7% from the field. He is leading the Big Ten in blocks and is one of four players in the country with at least 370 points, 195 rebounds, and 55 blocks.
