Northwestern State University partnered with LSU Shreveport to offer the 52-hour course. Early birds who sign up by Feb. 26 will pay only $430 for the Notary Public Exam Prep Course that begins on Mar. 4.
The course, offered by the university’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education, introduces students to notary public fundamentals. Attorney and notary Jennifer Brown will teach the course via online videoconferencing.
Students must have access to broadband, a camera, and sound to participate in the course.
The class uses the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Fundamentals of Louisiana Notarial Law and Practice. Students must purchase the book before the end of the course.
Louisiana requires those taking the Louisiana State Notary Exam to be Louisiana residents and be registered to vote in Louisiana.
