Teen found with unregistered gun after traffic stop in Madera, police say

MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A teenager was arrested during a traffic stop in Madera after being found with an unregistered gun, according to the city’s police department.

The City of Madera Police Department says detectives contacted the 17-year-old driver after conducting a traffic stop near Ellis and D streets in Madera on Friday afternoon.

During a search of the vehicle, the police department says the teen was found with a loaded, unregistered Glock-style 9mm handgun.

According to officials, he was arrested in connection with several weapons-related charges and booked into the Madera County Juvenile Hall.
