Man critically injured in shooting on east side of Indianapolis; Suspect arrested by IMPD

INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a man was critically injured in a shooting on the east side of Indianapolis Saturday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 2 a.m., officers were called to the 3700 block of North Chester Avenue on the report of a person shot. When police arrived at the scene, they located an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound inside a residence.

IMPD confirmed that the man was transported from the scene to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police reported that they located an adult male suspect at the scene and arrested him.
