PSP: North Schuylkill bus involved in crash in valley

UNION TOWNSHIP – A North Schuylkill bus driver was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, and no students were hurt in a crash near Ringtown Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 4:30pm Wednesday on Farmers Road near Breisch Road in Union Township.

According to State Police at Frackville, a North Schuylkill bus, driven by Marie Marsan, 57, of Mahanoy City, was headed north on Farmers Road.

Troopers said Brandy Daniels, 46, of Ringtown, was headed south on Farmers Road in a 2001 Jeep and crossed into the opposite lane, striking the bus.

The bus had damage to the driver’s side front quarter panel and was driven from the scene by a transportation supervisor from North Schuylkill.

Marsan was taken to a Pottsville hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

No passengers were injured. Troopers did not say how many passengers were on the bus.

Daniels was not injured and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Troopers said she will be cited for the crash.
