INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were displaced after a fire burned a double residence to the ground on the southwest side Friday afternoon, the Indianapolis Fire Department confirmed.

According to an X thread from IFD, fire crews were called around 12:58 p.m. to a residence on the 2000 block of S Belmont Street. They were assisted by the Wayne Township Fire Department.

IFD said this is the third time a fire broke out in this location over just three months.

Though two people were displaced, IFD said the fire was under control within 15 minutes and no injuries were reported.

Per IFD, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
