The festivities had Veterans Memorial Boulevard transformed into a rock concert, with the band Zebra beginning their 50th anniversary tour on Friday night, and more performers taking the stage on Saturday.
“It grows every year. It’s hard to believe that we’re already about to purchase 20 years next year. So it’s incredible time, and it started with just a few bands and very small and grown into a really big economic engine for the parish,” said Family Gras Producer Greg Buisson.
Many vendors were also on the ground, offering Mardi Gras-themed items and crafts, as well as delicious food and drinks for celebrants to enjoy.
A VIP experience was also available for those willing to buy the three-day passes, reportedly including access to food, drinks and backstage access.
The celebration will continue through Sunday evening. To learn more, visit the Family Gras webpage on Jefferson Parish’s website.
