On Thursday, Beshear confirmed 15 deaths, but he confirmed five more adults had died around 8:30 p.m. Friday on Facebook.
“Sad to share more tough news, as we’ve now lost 20 Kentuckians from the severe weather this week,” he wrote.
No names have been released, but among the five were two women, one from Warren County and one from Morgan County, and three men from Pike, Caldwell, and Ohio counties.
“Kentuckians show up for each other in times of need, and that’s what these 20 families need now as they mourn their loved ones. Let’s pray for them and let them know we’re here for them,” Beshear wrote.
All flood survivors in Kentucky with immediate, non-life-threatening needs such as unreliable power or electricity, limited drinking water, or those with medical needs or disabilities are being asked to fill out a Kentucky Rapid Needs Assessment or call (502) 607-6665.
