Multiple local choirs will be participating including Baton Rouge’s Heritage Choir, Grambling State University’s choir, and the New Dimensions Choral Society.
“Here we highlight the negro spirituals at this particular festival,” President of the New Dimensions Choral Society, Michael Harris, told KTAL. “It’s a really nice event. Everything of course is a capella, and you will hear a lot of tunes that you may be familiar with, and some you might not be familiar with. But to be in that environment where everything is a capella, it’s going to be a different experience.”
The festival will also be live-streamed on their Facebook page.
