Officers say they responded to the area of Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Peach Avenue for a report of a driver who pointed a firearm at another driver.
According to police, responding officers discovered the victim had been stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, the vehicle in front of her did not move. She honked her horn to alert the driver of the green light, but the suspect driver threw a can of Febreze and hit her in the head in response.
The suspect driver then retrieved a firearm, pointed it at the victim, pulled the trigger and drove away, according to investigators.
Officers conducted a high-risk vehicle stop on the suspect vehicle at Van Ness Avenue and Inyo Street. They say the suspect was taken into custody, arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail in connection with numerous firearm charges.
Detectives add they located a handgun with nine live rounds of ammunition in the magazine inside the vehicle.
