By rssfeeds-admin The Utah-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stated that the choir would continue the South American leg of the tour as it celebrates 100 years of the Church on the continent.
This announcement comes just ahead of their concert at the National Stadium in Lima, Peru, which is set to take place Saturday and can be streamed online. As part of this tour, the choir has performed in Mexico, the Philippines, and the Southeastern United States.
According to the Church’s Newsroom, there are more than four million members of the Church in South America, with multiple congregations in every country.
“Our South America concerts commemorate an important anniversary for all the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across the continent,” Choir President Michael O. Leavitt said in a press release on Thursday. “The Choir’s messages of hope and peace are our gift to them.”
Details on next year’s concerts in Brazil are limited at this time, but the choir says information on venues, tickets, and more will be announced at a future date.
