Suspect held without bond following death of Kansas City Super Bowl reporter

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New information has been released in the case of a woman charged in connection with the death of a Kansas City reporter in New Orleans for the Super Bowl.

A Jefferson Parish judge has ordered Danette Colbert to be held without bond. She’s facing fraud and theft charges after allegedly stealing the reporter’s credit cards.

Surveillance footage shows Colbert with the reporter, Adan Manzano, before he was found dead in his hotel room.

Kenner police say Colbert has previous arrests for allegedly drugging men to steal from them. The police are still waiting for toxicology results from Manzano’s autopsy.
