SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Known for adventuring through space in his role as James T. Kirk in Star Trek, William Shatner will join FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention as a guest this September.

FanX this year is set for Sept. 25 – 27, with tickets available online.

Shatner, 93, has been to the convention multiple times, and FanX said they are ecstatic to be announcing his return.

“Anytime we can have William Shatner as a guest, we are so excited! He was at our very first event and is so nice and enjoys meeting fans, especially those at FanX. He is such a staple in the fandom community,” said Chelsie Stoker, FanX marketing coordinator.

In addition to playing James Kirk, Shatner starred in “3rd Rock from the Sun”, “Big Giant Head”, and played Denny Crane in “The Practice” and its spinoff “Boston Legal”. He’s also been in the comedy and reality show “Better Late Than Never” and made appearances in “The Big Bang Theory.”

Stoker said Shatner will attend FanX on Friday and Saturday of the convention. Photo Ops can be pre-purchased starting Feb. 21, and autographs can be purchased at the convention. The website shows prices for photo ops at $145 and autographs at $120.

In addition to meet-and-greet opportunities, Shatner is also set to have a Q&A panel where fans can learn more about his prolific career, his own trip to space, and more. The time and date for the Q&A will be shared closer to FanX.

Shatner is among many other guests who have already been announced, including Emily Hampshire and Sarah Levy from “Schitt’s Creek”, Sonequa Martin-Green from “Star Trek: Discovery”, and Cooper Andrews from “Shazam!” and “The Walking Dead.”
