McMinnville woman killed in Highway 99 crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 31-year-old woman from McMinnville was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 99 in Yamhill County on Wednesday.

The crash occurred at 9:18 a.m., when a Chevy Silverado driven by 28-year-old Jerrold Miller of Woodland, Wash. was traveling southbound on Highway 99 and attempted to turn onto Highway 18, Oregon State Police say. During the turn, Miller’s truck crossed in front of a northbound Toyota Yaris driven by Christine Da Ai Yoon, causing a side-impact crash.

Yoon was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Miller suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local area hospital.

Highway 99 traffic was affected for 2.5 hours while police surveyed the crash scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

OSP, Dayton Fire and Rescue, McMinnville Fire and Rescue, the Newberg-Dundee Police Department, the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation all responded to the scene of the crash.
