According to ISP, troopers located a red Dodge Charger possibly connected to a recent robbery in Chicago and attempted a traffic stop around 3 a.m. Thursday on I-94 northbound at 63rd Street. When the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated that went onto I-290 westbound before continuing onto city streets.
The vehicle was stopped near Cicero and Monroe, ISP says, and everyone inside it fled on foot. All subjects were then taken into custody by Chicago Police Department officers.
Just after 4:30 a.m., the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) announced on its X feed that it was responding to an officer-involved shooting near 200 S. Cicero Ave. ISP said none of its officers were injured.
A heavy police presence remained in the area Thursday morning as the investigation continues.
